He was appointed to the post of Deputy Permanent Secretary (Power, IT & E-Government) at the Prime Minister's Office on the 5th August 2017.  He was previously the Director of the Department of Electrical Services, at the Prime Minister’s Office since June 2016.  He joined the Government service in 1996.

Pengiran Jamra Weira holds a Bachelor of Engineering, with a 1st Class Honours in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the University of Glasgow in 1995.  He also holds Masters of Science, in Power Electronics & Drives from the University of Birmingham in 1996.  He is married with 5 children.
